The Director NISM position for the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) has once again gone vacant and the capital market regulator SEBI has advertised for the recruitment of the post. NISM is an educational arm of SEBI which conducts training, research, certification and financial literacy across the securities market.
Requirements for Director NISM:
The post of Director NISM will be either on deputation or contractual basis, initially, for a period of three years. The position may get extended upto five years depending on the performance, said SEBI in an advertisement.
SEBI also further said that the person will also be eligible for re-appointment for another term of 3 to 5 years.
“Applications are invited for the post”, said SEBI, “for persons with an academic vision, institution building ability with sound professional and academic credentials. The last date for receiving application is May 31, 2021”.
Eligibility criteria for the position is that the candidate should have an experience of at least 20 years in a financial sector or research or education, with at least 5 years as administrative head or in a leadership role in an organisation. Further, the incumbent should have a first class degree, both at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. PhD degree is desirable but not mandatory.
Remuneration
The remuneration for the Director will be fixed at Scale 15 of the 7th Pay Scale ((Rs. 1,82,200 – Rs.2,24,100) and will also include other perks such as a car, accommodation and others.
Previous Directors at NISM
NISM was earlier headed by Dr. (Mrs.) M. Thenmozhi for a very short span of a year. Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, ex-RBI, is the only Director to have served a full-term of 5 years at NISM. Recently, the position was held by Whole Time Director of SEBI, Mr. Santosh Kumar Mohanty since August 5, 2019.
NISM is an autonomous public trust governed by its board of governers and SEBI Chairman is the ex-officio chairman of the BOG.
